I was interested in different parts of all the sciences when I was in school, Biology, Chemistry and Psychology were the three I chose to do in sixth form – there were lots of parts of physics I loved (like learning about space!) but I found myself drawn more to Biology and learning more about nature and the environment!
I am really confused by some of the things that physicists study – I just can’t get my head around it! Like ‘is time real?’…too mind blowing for me to study. I think I also found physics a bit boring in school. Maybe because there’s too much maths in it for me. I like biology because what you’re studying is alive and I find that way more interesting!
I had to learn about quantum physics in a fair amount of detail at university but I wouldn’t say that I “dislike” it. It’s more that I didn’t really understand it, which was frustrating. There’s a lot of maths behind it that just wasn’t my cup of tea.
