• Question: is there a chance that there is a particle we have not discovered

      Absolutely! We are trying all the time to discover new particles and how they interact- that’s what Eleanor and the rest of the scientists are working on at CERN!

      And we really hope that Dark Matter is a particle we haven’t discovered yet as well!

      It would almost be stranger if there weren’t particles that we haven’t discovered! All physicists want there to be new particles, it means there are more things for us to study and investigate.

      100%! There has to be more than what we have already discovered as there are still too many questions that remain unanswered by our current knowledge. As Ed says, that is one of the things that the experiments at CERN are looking for!

      Absolutely, and scientists are rather optimistic. For instance, a good portion of people in our experiment ATLAS at LHC are searching for so called supersymetric particles – ‘super’-counterparts of the particles we already know. Other experiments focus on new types of neutrinos, and the list goes on… 🙂
