Not personally but we do collaborate with scientists and laboratories all around the world! There’s only a dozen or so underground labs in the world so we all work together on certain projects.
For instance, we have some really high quality radiation detection, that is capable of detecting even incredibly low levels of radiation. This is very important when you’re building detectors- if the material you build it out of is radioactive (even a little bit), then you’re going to get loads of dodgy results! So we can test materials that other labs are planning to build detectors out of, and test various cleaning methods to see what gives them the least radiation. We’ve screened materials for a big new dark matter detector in America, as well as the neutrino detectors in Japan!
Yes, currently I’m living and working in Switzerland at CERN! I’ve been here for about 6 months and am due to be here for another year! I also travel around quite a lot to other countries for conferences and meetings. I feel very lucky to have gotten this opportunity!
