• Question: Will Star Wars ever become a reality? If so, would you rather be a jedi knight or in the sith?

      Well, holograms are slowly becoming a reality. Space travel has advanced since the Star Wars films began, with for example the international space station and preparing to send people to mars, which is directly from science fiction books/movies! We have intelligent droids like R2D2 and C3PO that have been developed in the likes of Japan and robots are being improved everyday to be capable of more and more. When Luke got his hand cut off he had a bionic arm fitted in its place – things like this are very much a reality for us now 🙂 I think all we need now are the ships and vehicles and we are good to go! 😉 Oh and the lightsabers of course – which I think scientists a MIT and Harvard are working on since finding a way to bind photons together (hopefully work in this area is still ongoing!). Oh and Jedi Knight or Sith? I think I would definitely be a Jedi knight! 😀

      There is a lot of technology in SW, so I will pick some at random.
      Death Star: I would say no, but I encourage you to read the very funny reply by department of state (https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/response/isnt-petition-response-youre-looking)
      Androids: Honda has several prototypes ready, so we are very close on that.
      Faster Than Light (FTL) engines: probably not especially on something as small as an X-Wing
      FTL communication: even with entanglement there is the need to send information at the speed of light, so as far as I know, there is no way to do it.
      Lightsabres: honestly they do not make sense. Essentially they are lasers, so how can photons be confined and create something solid is beyond me.
      A galaxy full of species: probably that is already the case, simply we do not know it yet! We are quite in the periphery of the Milk Way so we are probably out of the main lines of interstellar travel. Plus remember that the Galaxy is several billions years old while we have been around for only few tens of thousands of years. Maybe we missed a some visitors by few millions years which is nothing on these scales!

      Think Jackie and Michele have covered the various pieces of Star Wars technology pretty well, so I’ll just add that I would definitely be a Jedi Knight, honest, so you don’t need to worry about giving me a lightsaber 😀
