• Question: why does a round pizza come in a square box?

      Traditionally you make pizza flat by rotating the dough, so it assume a round shape. It is much easier to cut a piece of box to have a square shape that it to have a round one.

      I think its just because a square box is easier and more cost effective to make, transport flat-packed and assemble

      You can’t actually stack circular boxes side by side any more efficiently than you can square boxes whose side is the same length as the diameter of the circle — circles take up the same total space but don’t use all of it! Since squares are easier to make, you may as well stick with them…
