• Question: When will hover cars become a reality?

      Hmm the first thing we would need would be a totally awesome power source that could supply the amount of power required, but would also be safe and sustainable. Then we would need a way of making a car hover that doesn’t involve blowing everything near it over like current hovercraft do 😛

      So basically, a while, maybe never? 🙁 No-one knows what we’ll discover or invent in the future though. My co-ordination’s terrible and I can’t drive so I’m pretty stoked for the development of driverless cars!

      As Oliver said probably never, mainly because there is no real need for such device. Car are doing a fair job in taking us from point A to point B in a much more efficient way than any flying device we have. Flying is good for very long distances, not the short to medium distances we usually travel by car.

      I drive and I must admit I think flying cars would be a nightmare! How would we regulate traffic? I think things like magnetic trains and magnetic monorail could be developed but as Ollie and Michele have said, there is no real need for this technology just yet and so there is no big push for it to happen. Maybe in the future when things are different, but right now I think any developments in this area are purely for fun rather than for practical purposes.
