• Question: How do people take videos/photos of Volcanoes while they are erupting?

      I don’t actually know, but I think some volcanic eruptions last a really long time so they’d have plenty of time to get there. and then I imagine it is a compromise between risking their necks getting too close and using the zoom on their camera.
      Have you seen Storm Chasers on Tv? Its kind of the same thing, where these people go looking for ridiculous hurricans and things to photograph. So getting close enough to take a good picture but not actually get killed. I think that may actually be worse because at least the volcano stays still but the storm moves around and they can’t always predict very well where its going next.

      I love watching Storm Chasers! haha absolutely terrifying sometimes though, and theres no way you would find me standing near a volcano trying to get a good picture 😛 I think most videos like that are done using quadcopters these days – heres one I found on youtube: https://youtu.be/_L6Phuwqi7Y

      Using drones is probably the safest option 🙂 but still risky for the drone!
