      YES!

      My team is over 70 and the lab runs 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm. This means we have different shifts in so that we can prepare 64,000 Covid samples a week for sequencing. This means we really need our SOPs to ensure that everyone involved is doing the same thing at the same point in the pipeline, regardless of what shift they are on or what day of the week it is.

      Changes in the process could lead to contamination getting in or us having unusable data at the end. Therefore SOPs are a critical part of the process and something all good science requires.
