      Totally depends on the individual.
I started with chanting and repeating facts but found I forgot it too quickly this way. Moved on to mind maps which helped remember, and now I visualize the concept and understand the core of it so I can then derive the details on the fly. That works the best for me.

Different ways work for different people – visual (i.e. pictures including mind maps), auditory (i.e. listening), reading/writing and kinaesthetic (i.e. practical / doing)…or a combination of way. There’s a VARK website where you can find out what works best for you – if you’re a true scientist, you’ll experiment with different ways and see which works best for you!

When I was at school I enjoyed using the BBC bitesize website to help me study. Made it a bit more interesting.

I always found diagrams and pictures could much better summarise something that would take a long time to write in words. I also made revision cards with the key points on and re-read these lots of times. When I was revising for my A levels I used the s-cool website, I think this website sums up the important points really clearly. If you haven’t heard of this website, it also has a section for GCSE’s which is pretty good.
