• Question: Do you think science is portrayed accurately in feature films or Tv shows such as CSI?

      Since I work in a ‘pathology’ lab too, my lab looks nothing like the labs on CSI – they look much more flash than where I work! I think TV has to make it look more glamorous but my lab and isn’t a accurate portrayal (however they do have more money in the US so maybe labs are a bit more hi-tech over there).

      They get a lot of the physics wrong in movies (Neutrinos heating up the core of the Earth in 2012, hearing sound in space in Star Wars, fire in space etc).

      I’d give Hollywood a wanting 2/5 stars for accuracy.

      Often things need tested lots of times, and can be far less conclusive in real life compared to movie science.
