Urgh!!!! No really this is probably OK. Your tongue is covered in tiny ‘fingers’ called papillae. bacteria can hide between them and grow releasing the yellow colour. Drinking plenty of water and healthy food and brushing your teeth well twice a day will help keep those bugs at bay!

I guess that depends on what you have been eating. I do hope you hot been smoking but this is a common cause of tongue discoloration. If you look closely at your tongue you will see that it has lots of tiny projections, like tiny fingers sticking up. These are called villi and sometimes take on the colour of things you put in your mouth. So if you have been eating, tiny food deposits may remain on the surface of the tongue trapped by the villi. I think this is the most likely cause.

Luckily your tongue is not strawberry or raspberry coloured as this is an early sign of scarlet fever :-S
