No, I haven’t had that feeling so far, but I have not been working for a long time and the excitement of going to work and not knowing what to expect is still high! However like everything there are good days and some not so good days and on not so good days you think of all the good things that have happened and get through it.

Yes! In science we often only have jobs for a few years at a time before having to move to another job. I was getting near the end of my job and had no offers or no interviews! I was ready to give up and get a stable normal job but luckily I applied for a job and got it!

Honestly, yes! I have had times, after a particularly busy and emotional shift where I have questioned whether I can keep doing it. Every time this has happened though people I work with help me through it and remind me why I love it. No job is easy all the time and the best thing about my job is the people I work with. We all try to look after each other which is really important.

If i’m completely honest then i have. Sometimes things just don’t want to work and even though you try very hard you just can’t seem to see the light! You have to stay positive and keep going though because everything will get better in the end. I’m glad i never did give up because it really is a great job and the highs outweigh the lows!

I have never wanted to give up, but once many years ago I looked after a patient who died, and it was so sad that I really needed a change, so I moved to New Zealand and worked as a nurse there for a year, which was amazing, and gave me the change I needed at that time. 🙂

No. I did find it difficult at first. I am naturally shy and found it hard to be confident giving people advice and asking them to do tests which they might not want to. But with practice, and watching how other people work, I soon got used to doing things like that.
