Probably, having an interest in why things happen and wondering whether it would be possible to intervene and control that. In psychology you learn that it is possible to manipulate people’s behaviour and predict how they will repsond in certain situtaions. It seemed amazing to me that you could apply the same predictability that you see in chemistry when you mix two substances together, to human behaviour.

Knowing what kind of science you want to do really. Then go from there, study and enjoy the work too, if you don’t you won’t be a happy scientist.
