One of the first things I found out was that the size of part of the brain called the hippocampus was correlated with how well someone did on a particular memory test.
Most recently I found out that some people with epilepsy can have fewer seizures if they use a light box in the morning. Although lots of people associate epilepsy with flashing lights, we found that some people can have fewer seizures if they are exposed to very bright light in the morning. It also makes them feel less depressed. It’s all to do with the way the brain regulates a hormone called melatonin. Melatonin helps to regulate sleeping and waking up and can affect your mood as well.
