I did go to a church primary school as a child but even then I think religion was more about principles of how to treat others and behave yourself. I have quite high values about how to behave in society but don’t believe certain aspects like that the world was create in 7 days etc, so no I haven’t changed my faith but it hasn’t caused me any problems.

I was raised with Christian values, but not as a religious person. My parents wanted me to make my own choices about religion, science and the rest of it all. I have a strong moral compass and dislike unkindness and pig-headedness in all forms. look for the good in everyone, it’s for you to show me if you are or not.

No – being a scientist hasn’t made me change any faith. As a scientist you find out some incredible things about the world – I think if you had very strong religious beliefs to start with, studying science might make your belief in God stronger – it has for some scientists, including the head of one of the most respected scientific societies in the country. There is a quite a big difference between a belief in God and religion. Science might make some people question some of the stories in religion, because they dont make much sense in the word as we understand it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there isn’t a God. That’s for individuals to decide.
