Hi Aime – this isn’t something that I have done personally but my colleagues who are clinical trained to. Blood has tell us all sorts of important things about the health or a person and we can even use it to work out if someone has markers for a particular disease. Hope that helps 🙂
Hi Aime. Yes, my project involves taking patient blood. I look at how the immune cells in the blood of
cancer patients behaves and why their immune cells can’t destroy cancer as well as a healthy person’s immune cells
Hi Aime. I also take patient blood. I assess why patients with lung disorders struggle to control infections and this uses immune cells present in the blood.
We take blood samples routinely from patients to measure blood glucose. For people that have Type 1 diabetes they have to keep a very careful watch on their blood glucose to make sure it doesn’t get too high or too low.
