When we start new projects, we need to read a lot about what has been done so far, and which hurdles other scientists have managed to cross already, so that we learn where there is real need for contribution. This can be quite exciting (although sometimes a bit daunting!), and I have learnt a lot of interesting things, for example, the role of the stem cells, which are very special cells that have the ability to develop into many different cell types. How amazing is that! They are sometimes used to treat certain illnesses. And computer science can help analyse loads and loads of data collected from them, to help us gain more understanding.
