Though I never met him and he was before my time, I would say my role model is Richard Feynman.
For a start, he was a brilliant researcher into particle physics, for which he won the Nobel Prize.
More importantly to me though, he was able to communicate science in an amazing way.
Videos of him are still a great watch today. e.g. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QkhBcLk_8f0
I also got into physics through writings by and about Feynman (no YouTube back then!), but now my more direct role models are people working in my field. As time passes, we can get very busy with many management tasks as well as the physics… and sometimes that completely takes over. My role models are the people who have never lost sight of why they got into this in the first place, and are still doing really interesting physics things despite all the attempts to turn them into administrators!
