      I’m working on it now, in my third and final year. I should submit my thesis by the end of the year although how long it is until I have my viva (oral exam) and then actually graduate I’ve no idea

      Nope. I considered it but decided against it. It requires a particular type of work ethic and dedication and 3.5 more years at university after a 4 years Master’s degree is a lot!

      Yes, I got mine in 2006. In particle physics a PhD is the start point for a research career: the learning continues though, through junior research jobs and onward. I’m hoping it never stops because constantly discovering new ways of thinking keeps my brain from gumming up, but it is nice to not have exams anymore 🙂

      I started my PhD in September 2018 so I’m looking forward to having the title Dr. Evans in about 3 and a half years 😉

      Not yet. I’m two years into one now so hopefully will have one in another two years. Wish me luck 😄!

      Nope. (Not yet?) Maybe one day but I thought it would be a good idea to take a break from university for a bit and get a job in industry to see what it’s like. Though my current company- STFC do a lot of academic research so I like to think I’m getting a taste of both worlds 🙂
