• Question: Why would you want an outside science place?

      In my own research, I’m actually hardly outdoors at all, I mostly work inside in the lab. Other researchers at the same department have what is called field work in their research, where you for example go out and collect samples from rivers. Some even go to exotic places like Tanzania or Peru, I do have to admit I’m a bit jealous!
      Because I work with bacteria, I do everything in the lab. The most adventurous field work I have done is go to a local farm and collect samples of pig poo (which are exciting because poo is teeming with bacteria!) – not very glamorous.
