I chose microbiology because human disease really interested me during my A-Levels, i wanted to know more about the organisms that caused this and why the human body does the things it does when you are ill.
      .
Then when i got to University and started learning microbiology it completely changed how i looked at the world! I began learning that bacteria could do some pretty absurd and impressive things and along with fungi form the foundation for life on the planet!
      .
I had so many times after a lecture that i would walk out thinking to myself “no way is that a real thing” or “this explains so many questions ive always had about X”
      .
Like any science Microbiology is a treat for those who have a craving for knowledge and problem solving. It also has alot of applications to real life and has helped me really appreciate what an amazing and wonderful (albiet extremely complex) world we live in!
      .
Hope that answers your question, if not please ask me another and ill try to get back to you ☺
