  I’m pretty sure that your skull can heal – people can crack their skulls in bad accidents and it can heal. I don’t think you can heal if you have a big hole though, which may be what your mum is talking about!
  
  Breaking the spine is probably the same. But if you break the spine, there’s a very high chance you cut all your major nerves. And you’re right in saying that bones can’t heal when you’re dead!
