      Sadly yes, war has changed a lot with different inventions – from gunpowder, to airplanes, to the nuclear bomb.
      .
      On a slightly more fun note, there are sometimes “wars” in science – the Bone Wars in the late 1800’s was a competition between two scientists to find the most dinosaur fossils and both financed so many expeditions they were bankrupt by the end of it 🦖

      As David said, yes. What’s important though is that science is used for good more often than not, and nobody is ever forced into doing something they don’t want. It’s unheard of for somebody like us to go into work and be told “hey, funny story your job today is to kill a few hundred people.”
