An interesting mix of questions 😉

I love Star Wars! I was so excited when Episode VII came out, I organised a marathon to watch all other 6 films together with friends just to “prepare” for the release of the new one!
      .
The first cloned mammal (this was back in the 1990’s!) was a sheep called Dolly. To clone animals, researchers have to revert cells back into a state where they can still “differentiate” – this is what it’s called when, early in your development, cells specialise to become brain, muscle, or other cells. This reverted cell can then be implanted into a surrogate mother as an embryo.
      .
As far as I know, there has been no human cloning done on earth, but for example on Kamino, Kaminoans created the Great Clone Army for the Republic to battle the Separatist Droid Army – is this where the Star Wars link comes from? 😛
