I present to them the options that are available and then using previous cases I have worked on explain what the regulatory authorities will and will not agree to as acceptable risks.
It could involve delaying drilling until a certain seabird breeding season is over or when fish are less susceptible to disturbance.
Ultimately the legislation enforced by the government forces the companies to consider safety and the environment and not just focus 100% on making money.
