Question: Whats string theory?

String theory says that the universe is actually made out of tiny vibrating elastic bands (more or less)! These are so small that we can’t see them directly – instead we see particular sorts of vibration as different particles. It’s interesting to look at things this way because it brings together much of physics in a single theory.
