      Movies use LOTS of expensive and complex equipment. However most of it is just to do something a little better or a little faster than you could do it otherwise.

      The only two things you must have to make a film are a story, and a camera.

      Your iPod has a better camera, and better video editing than were available when lots of great films were made.

      If you want to do a CG film, then all you need is a computer. On a real CG movie they use LOTS of computers – 10’s of thousands, to do all the calculations, but you don’t need anything complex to produce great results. what you have is far better than they had to make the first CG movies.

      Just go out and make a movie – it’s always about the people more than the equipment. The first one won’t be great, but the second one will be better. Keep doing it till you’ve got a great movie!
