If we were to get rid of cars and other pollution causing agents such as factories, we would still be having pollution from natural sources. For example volcanoes cause the liberation of carbon monoxide, marshes produce huge quantities of methane that is a pollutant, biological decay or rotting of plants and animals produce foul smell, and forest fires that lead to carbon dioxide monoxide.

Although we wouldn’t be able to get rid of all pollution damage – getting rid of man made pollution would have several benefits.

We would stop depleting our ozone layer as much as we are now, which would prevent global warming from happening, our air quality would improve (and therefore improve our health), plants wouldn’t be damaged from as much acid rain (which pollution causes).

Our wildlife would certainly change – for example, pesticides kill insects and birds, so our ecosystem would dramatically change. At the moment the population of bees has declined, partly because of pesticide use – bees pollinate, so without them we’d have no fruit or vegetables!
