      a whole bunch of things:

      1) there’s a whole load of science that goes into how they work.
      2) we use them to do science (either by doing simulations, recording results, or analysing results).
      3) I use computers and science to solve problems.

All three are kind of blurred, so if I want a character in a movie to have a long coat that flaps around, I’ll need to understand the physics of cloth, and understand how to tell a computer about how that works. Then the computer will run the simulation, using the science and produce the correct movement which we need for the film.
