There are 3 types of diabetes that I know of. One is type 1- that is inherited and does not have any cure, it starts right from the time a child is born and continues till death. It is a genetic disorder and nothing can be done to cure that, the person is put on medication right from the time he is born!
The second one is called type 2 diabetes that develops during the life span of a person and is treatable. This could be related to their diet (eating fatty food, hamburgers and coke everyday!) or bad lifestyle such as being too lazy to exercise. These factors can cause diabetes to begin around mid 40s or so or sometimes even earlier. The older the person gets chances are that his diabetes worsens. This form can be prevented.
Then there is one form which is called gestational diabetes that happens to children/babies who are in the wombs of mothers who are diabetic. Since the baby is born with it, it is almost impossible to treat but can be controlled with medicines to an extent.
