• Question: how does conditioner work? how does it make your hair smooth?

      this is a really good question! Hair is made of a protein called keratin, which has lots of amino acids with negative charges sticking out. Shampoo is negatively charged, so is attacted to dirt which is positively charged, removing it. Condition is positively charged – so is attracted to your hair and doesn’t completely wash out with water. This leaves a protective coating on your hair, smoothing it and prevent static electricity from giving you frizzy locks, like someone I know 😉
