Question: What would happen if i left chewing gum in a petri dish forever

Microbiologists use petri dishes to study bacteria. They would put your chewing gum on a jelly-like substance called agar which helps bacteria to grow. After a couple of days you would see little spots of bacteria growing around your chewing gum. This would be cool as it would tell you what types of bacteria live in your mouth!
