• Question: what is the possibility of England winning the world cup

      I still haven’t gotten over the pain of the penalty shoot-out in ’96.

      True that was the Euros and not the world cup – but that was the last time I really believed England could win a major tournament (and they really could have!)

      England are not as strong as people like Germany, France or Brazil – but as the opening games has shown us – anything can happen.
      I reckon its not impossible – but pretty unlikely.
      England are in a fairly underwhelming group so I’d expect them to get out the group stages with comfort.
      When you are in the knock-out stage strange things can happen!

      100%. I’m pretty sure we’ve got this in the bag. Germany, Brazil, Spain and Argentina have all failed in their opening games, but England haven’t put a foot wrong in this world cup so far!
