I first joined the lab I’m in for a 4 month placement as part of my masters degree. 8 years later I’m still here!

I first started working as a statistician nearly 10 years ago, I have moved work place a few times but still remained working as a statistician in medical research.

I am still a student technically! Had a 3-year Undergraduate course, 2-year Masters’ and now doing a 3-year PhD. So will be 8 years education before I even get to starting my career!

I’m what’s considered an ‘early career researcher’ (I’m still completing my PhD). In my undergrad degree I completed a placement year in which I got to work as a research assistant, so I guess that was the first time I worked in this industry – that was 5 years ago.
