      Hey Elizabeth – this is a totally cool question for me to answer!

      The bump on the outside of your ankles is due to a thing called a ‘hallmark feature’ on the fibula bone of the leg. The bump on the ankle end of the bone is called the ‘Lateral Malleolus’, and is what gives your anatomy that characterisic sticky out bit.

      For me though, I was born with two extra bones in my feet called ‘Accessory Navicular’ which means I have a bump on the inside too!!
