I work at the interface of a few sciences. I do some chemistry, physics and biology almost every day!

I specialise in astrochemistry, it’s a mish-mash of astrophysics, nanoscience and chemistry. I mostly work in spectroscopy where we see how chemical species interact with light.

I worked in the field of spectroscopy that involves interacting light and matter (atoms or molecules). It’s a mix of physics and chemistry.

I specialise in organic chemistry – making new molecules, mostly made out of the element carbon!

My every day work is a mixture of genetic engineering, microbiology and chemistry. I cut and paste DNA in bacteria, that’s the genetic engineering and I detect what my bacteria produce with chemical techniques.
