      Hi CRUSHINGRYAN,

I have always loved science and had developed a fascination towards everything science. One day we were taken on a school trip to a science lab and that is when I was sure I would love to be a scientist.

This is a tough one to answer – I was always keen on museums/science museums from a young age. As I got older, I wanted to understand how things worked and this natural curiosity certainly lends itself to the life of a scientist!

My parents are both journalist and publicists, so nothing related to science. But since I was a baby they saw I started to be interested in plants, rocks and tiny things so that they bought me a tiny microscope and a magnifying glass. Little by little I examined my hair, nails and other stuff under the microscope and for Christmas I got some real microbial samples to analyse. I could then see that I wanted to be a scientist and I went for it.

Pure curiosity. Do you know how a 3 year old walks around and says why? why? why?

Well, I grew up but the whys didn’t go away. Just the questions got bigger and the curiosities grew. If you want to know about the world around you, science is a great way to find answers.
