      I worked in a team where the goal was to find the best way to make a drug for manufacture. So when you make a molecule you might have several steps before you get to the final product, and there may be several different options and ways of making it. The team I was in tried to find the best way to make them! The sequence of steps to make a drug is called the route, so we were designing the route to new drugs. Hope that makes sense!
