I studied at the University of Manchester for my degree in pharmacy. After a year in clinical practice, I went back to study for a PhD at University of Manchester.
I did my undergrad at St Aloysius College, India and Masters in Chemistry at National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), India. Later joined for my PhD at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.
It is a doctorate of philosophy. You can get one after finishing your first degree. You spend 3-4 years doing field research and write a little book that’s about 100-200 pages long. A PhD helps you develop specialty and loads of other skills a scientist needs.
