      Marie Curie.
She was such a hard working scientist, She used an innovative technique to investigate samples. She hypothesized that the radiation was not the outcome of some interaction of molecules but must come from the atom itself. This hypothesis was an important step in disproving the ancient assumption that atoms were indivisible. The Curies (her husband and brother) did not have a dedicated laboratory; most of their research was carried out in a converted shed next to the School of Physics and Chemistry. She provided a breakthrough invention in radioactivity which is of great advantage in many fields of science today including medicines. She did all science in very hard time, without fancy laboratories and her hard work and motivation has kept her alive until today.

Nikola Tesla – for his innovation and intelligence. He invented the tesla coil which will make your hair stand on end if you touch it. Bigger ones can produce lightning.

Frederick Sanger – he made several really important discoveries, not that long ago, that are so fundamentally important to chemistry and biochemistry
