Makeup or cosmetics which girls generally use, have a lot of chemicals depending on what you are using.
Creams if you have noticed are emulsions (contain both water and fat/oil- and you get a cream when you mix water and oil very rigidly) Castor oil is mostly used as an oil base. glycol distearate is often used as a pearlescent agent (Pearlescence, also sometimes spelled as “pearl essence”, is a shine or gloss effect found in creams)
For solids like lipsticks, carnauba wax is used along with thickening agents and colouring agents like iron oxide and other synthetic colours.
The foundations which people usually have before makeup (to make the skin smooth and even), is itself of many types, and each types involve different chemicals. Oil based have mineral oil, alcohol based have denatured alcohol, Mineral makeup uses mica, bismuth oxychloride, titanium dioxide or zinc oxide, its usually powdery. Silicone based foundations are now recently in trend (like dimethicone, polysiloxane, cyclomethicone and phenyl trimethicone). Silicone provides lubrication and viscosity better than oil allowing a product to apply and blend over the skin smoothly and evenly, and is also light when applied over skin.
Face powder usually has talc. there are many more depending on what you are using. I think i covered the main ones, in case you need to know anything specific, just shoot!
