There are too many talented scientists. I mainly impressed by Pasteur which discover bacteria and germs and vaccine.
Also, Marie Curie not only due to the discovery of radium and its toxicity due to its radioactivity but also because she was the first women to be recognised for her research and got a nobel price in chemistry.

I am very much impressed by Marie Curie. She was great scientist who made discoveries with poor facilities and being a woman, which in those days was far more difficult than today. I think all scientists were talented that’s how they gave us all the impressive and useful discoveries.

My Favourite is Dr. Carl Djerassi, the inventor of oral contraceptive pill. His invention brought about a revolution in the sexual practices and childbirth. He was also very active in politics, making science policies for the government, and in his later years turned into a play writer, combining science with art and drama, thus educating people about science. I had an opportunity to meet him just a few months before his death, and at 91 he was still very active and so oozing with enthusiasm, that he became an inspiration for me from then onwards!

i don’t think you can really compare scientists from different eras. but you can pick out people like newton, curie, einstein, hawkin, tesla but its hard to compare them.
