There is a widely accepted theory that a large asteroid hit the Earth (present day Gulf of Mexico), which caused the extinction of the dinosaurs. Many animals, some of them very simple, have been around a long long long time.

The cause of dinosaurs’ extinction is still a mystery, climatic change, diseases, changing plant communities, and geologic events could all have played a role.
There are many types of animals which existed before human being came into existence.
Goblin sharks I think are one of the oldest ones, but there are many others….

Since 2006, the oldest animal on earth was the ocean quahog (Arctica islandica). It was 507 years old and was collected close to Iceland coast by scientist and killed by mistake when they tried to open it.
