The ‘scientific method’ that we use to carry out the process of experimentation, looking at results and drawing conclusions, dates back to at least ancient Greece.
But it’s something that has been slowly evolved and worked on for hundreds and hundreds of years
Lots of people helped develop modern science and it would be impossible to point one out. However, the ideas of observation to provide data, and rational interpretation of that data probably go back over 2000 years to the time of ancient Greece. The Ancient Greeks were responsible for what we know as the scientific method which was refined over the ages into the process by which modern science moves us forward.
