A parasite is an organism that lives inside or on a host organism. The parasite takes all it’s nutrients from the host and gives it nothing in return and harms the host. Parasites can be multicellular including things like headlice/nits, worms (ringworm/tapeworms) or unicellular (plasmodium falciparium – causes malaria, toxoplasma gondii- causes toxoplasmosis aka cat poo disease). I studied parasites called the trypanosomes which cause trypanosomiasis. Here’s some video’s I made about them.
