      Making bioconjugates is all about having something which is very good at recognising one particular thing. If your bioconjugate sticks to lots of different things then you would have a hard time figuring out which one was actually present.
      In most cases, it starts with knowing that there is a virus or protein that is interesting to you. You tune the bioconjugate to look for that one thing. You don’t really want to find other things by accident
