      I won a poster prize once, but there were only two posters in the competition. And two prizes. 😀

      I won the Watt Club Medal for being the best student in my graduating class and I guess that helped me win a Carnegie Scholarship. However, by far the best thing I’ve won was “I’m a Scientist…” a couple of years ago!

      I won medals for coming top of my graduating class and for outstanding academic achievement, and these definitely helped my win a Carnegie PhD scholarship. More recently, I was awarded the British Liquid Crystal Society’s ‘Young Scientist’ prize for outstanding contributions to liquid crystal science in the UK 🙂

      It wasn’t really a science award, but at the uni the students voted me best lab teacher
