Impact is important to scientist. It is good to see when other scientists are reading your work and making use of the results. This I know is happening with the work from my group.

I’m often also asked to review papers by other scientist and to engage with international funding agencies to approve or otherwise applications from other scientists for funding.

Currently I don’t impact the world a lot. But the science I’m doing has the potential to impact the world in the future.
Within science we communicate what we’re doing with each other through attending conferences and publishing papers, through this I have impact within science.

In my company, our business does impact the world. For example, we make something which goes into the covid test, we make something used in the treatment of HIV, we make clothes flame retardant, we help extraction lithium from the ground for batteries, we also make something which makes flavours and fragrances.
