The advances in nanoscience motivated me to take up research on nanoscience. Moreover, I was fascinated by the function of biological processes. I then thought to investigate the science at the interface of nanomaterials and biomolecules. We found that some carefully engineered nanomaterials can function like enzymes, the most powerful and specific catalysts found in biological systems. Due to the high impact of this work, I was shortlisted as one of the top 45 finalists for the prestigious REAXYS Ph.D. Prize 2015.
