Question: have you ever designed a car?

Hi @tyresef. No, overall car design is done by specialist designers, rather than scientists. And the design of individual parts is done by engineers.
Scientists are usually involved in the individual part specification where we advise which materials to use and the tests that the part must pass. Scientists also get involved in testing when parts don’t work the way they should.
